Doppler Magic Decoder
Over time I’ve given away thousands of UADP/Doppler ASICs. It surprises lots of people that anyone would care.
Why does it matter that this bit of metal, silicon, etc, is a forwarding ASIC from the most successful family of campus switches EVER (north of $50B so far).
They have no real value. They don’t work. They were recovered before they were discarded. They had failed after packaging, were engineering samples that were not used, or never shipped as part of a product.
So why do people care? The ASICs are a physical representation of an abstract value proposition. They represent the work that we do to produce the product, and the value that our customers can derive from them. They are also tactile, and more fun than a fidget spinner.
The table and photo gallery below are a work in progress, probably contain errors, and will get updated in the “near” future.
I also have a “BEST Doppler SWAG” post on the way.
Cheers
Peter
